What Is Low Carbon Chilterns?
LCC is a group set up to work towards lower carbon emissions in the Chilterns area.
Members are located in Amersham, Beaoconsfield, Berkhamsted, Chalfont St Giles, Chalfont St Peter, Chesham, Jordans and surrounding villages.
Low Carbon Chilterns Ltd (LCCL) was incorporated as an Industrial and Provident Society in November 2011. It was formed by members of low carbon and transition town groups in the area who wish to work together to reduce the area's carbon footprint. As the area covered by Chiltern District Council produces the highest carbon emission per household of all local authorities in the United Kingdom2, we think that this is an important and necessary initiative.
You will note from the attached response to DECC's consultation that we have had to completely rethink our plans since the change in FIT tariff deadline. Our response gives some indication of our plans but watch this space for more details.
News
Low Carbon Chiltern won LEAF funding to develop a business plan to identify the best ways for us to help reduce carbon footprints in the Chilterns, work with other organisations in the area, and develop a sustainable business model that makes full use of government funding and other initiatives. The first edition of the plan was completed by the end of March.
